Customer ‘Service’ Beyond Belief

A little while ago we were flying to the US with my daughter, her husband and their three small children. By the time we got to Los Angeles, the kids had had enough. So had the parents, to the point that when they were grabbing everything off the carousel to go through customs, they forgot the pram.

We all got in line for the customs check, and only then realised that they didn’t have the pram. It was still on the carousel. It was only about 20 feet away, in full view of all of us. But do you think the customs person would let us go and get it? No way! Talk about using your common sense: these kids were going silly. There was definitely no customer service that day.

When we got through customs, we had to go and buy a new pram. It was not a good introduction to an otherwise great country. Remember: we can always do better.
