New Year’s Resolutions

Each January, I give myself a bit of time to sit and think about
what I want to achieve in the new year. As I’ve gotten older, it does not get
any easier. Knowing what one wants is the secret. So decide what you want. Most
people don’t get what they want out of life, for they have not decided what
they want.

From a very young age, I wanted to be in business. I got
into business. Then I thought I’d better look at things again. I decided I wanted
a successful and profitable business. Be careful what you wish for.

The process of getting from where you are to where you want
to be is like using GPS: it simply needs to know where you are at the moment
and where you want to go. When you put in your destination, your GPS plots a
perfect course for you. All you have to do is follow the instructions. I love
my GPS.

So set a destination for yourself. Then stay focused and
keep your vision clear. The idea is to not limit your choices. We do live in a
land of opportunity. Where I fall down sometimes is I don’t have enough belief
in myself. You’ve got to have that. Believing in yourself is a choice, and I
choose to believe anything is possible.
